Big News!

Cydney and I are going to share a birthday---Friday, July 17th!

My doctor checked my cervix this morning and discovered that I am 1 cm dilated! He turned to Chris and I and asked, "Do you want to have a baby tomorrow or Friday?" I was in total shock because I have NOT had any bleeding or pain and had no idea I was starting to dilate. We want to give her every last minute to develop that we can, so we chose Friday (I will be checked again in the morning to make sure we can wait until Friday).

I have a mix of emotions going through me right now. I am excited to meet her, but nervous. I wanted to make it to 35 weeks, but I guess that isn't going to happen. I am SO thankful that we are at 34 weeks, but she will still be a preemie. I wish we could just take the cerclage out and let nature take it's course, but that's not an option. I can't go into 'labor' due to the risk of my uterus rupturing from my previous classical c-section.

I had a growth scan today and she was on the smaller side at 4lbs 2oz. I was hoping for closer to 5 lbs, but that's not in my control! I was a 4 lb baby---what can I say, like mother, like daughter!

As of now, my c-section is scheduled for Friday morning at 730am. Please pray all goes well and she comes out breathing and pink! Also, pray that she has developed the suck, swallow, breathe reflex and she doesn't need a feeding tube! I am trying to expect her to go to NICU for a bit, but how awesome would it be if we could skip that!

Thanks for all your prayers! We will keep you updated!

We are so excited for you and Chris and big brother Coy!!! Can't wait to meet your beautiful baby girl. You have done really well throughout these months in the hospital and you are about to see the results of all that bedrest! We will pray that Cydney will only have to stay a minimal time (if at all) in the NICU. God has been watching over you both and look how far you have come - that is so awesome! We'll be waiting for news!! What a wonderful birthday present!
Love,

Ann Marie, what a wonderful birthday present! And it will be an even better one if Miss Cydney can stay out of the NICU or only stay a short time. I can't wait to meet her. I got to see Coy yesterday and I couldn't believe how much he'd grown in the last 6 months. He was still just smiling away at us and and looking like a mini Chris! What a cutie! As a bonus we got to see Ryder again too! What a handsome little man he is! I just LOVE his hair! I will be praying extra hard for all of you on Friday morning. I can't wait to get home and check the blog or my email that day to hear the news.

With love and prayers, Vicki

I am so excited for you to have made it so far in this journey. Sweet Cydney is a strong little girl with one heck of a mama!

My twin boys were born at 34w2d and just needed a bit of time to learn how to eat. I have a feeling that Cydney will need a lot less...you know what they say about girls in the NICU!

Anyway, congratulations and happy early birthday to you both!

Ann Marie,

We will be thinking about you and praying that all goes well on Friday! It was sooo cute tonight, Jaxson was sitting with Shawn looking at your blog and he said "Coy" over and over... then out of the blue he said "sweetie pie"! (Adorable!) Finally when he saw the picture of Coy w/ the vacuum, he said "vacuum" (of course... he loves it too). Then Shawn was talking to Jaxson about Cydney and also asked him if he is having a brother or sister. His reply was "vacuum"! Apparently I'm pregnant with a Hoover! Too funny, I had to share.

Anyway, I am so proud of you that you made it this far! I will pray for a healthy, happy baby and mommy and for her suck-swallow-breathe to be in full gear! Take care!

Love,
Ann

Oh my goodness - that's quite a birthday present! I've been following your blog for quite a while now - since Coy was first born - and I'm so pleased for you that you've managed to get to 34 weeks this time round. I've never had the pregnancy issues you've had, but both of my children have had major health issues after they were born, so I understand a bit about the whole rollercoaster ride thing!I'll be watching out for updates tomorrow, and will be hoping and praying that little Cydney comes out pink and feisty! With love from across the pond X

I have been reading your blog for a long time now (since Coy was a baby) and I have to say that you are an amazing woman being able to endure what you have for the love of your children!! I checked in tonight because I had a feeling that you either had Cydney or was about to... I will pray for the two of you and also that the nicu will not be necessary or at least be a VERY short stay so that she can go home with you. Good luck and get ready to meet your princess!!
