Thanks be to GOD!

"Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done. Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts. Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice. Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always. Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced" 1 Chronicles 16: 8-12

Well, it's been almost 2 full days and Coy is still going strong on his nasal cannula! His oxygen requirement was 21-30% today and he was breathing just as he should! I held him today for the first time in a few days; it was heaven on earth. He slept so soundly on me for a few hours, however when it was time for his feeding, he was wide awake and couldn't get enough of his pacifier! He was holding his pacifier in by himself and sucking so hard on it he was smacking his lips together! Grandma K, his nurse, and I were laughing so hard at him! We got it on video, but am having trouble uploading videos on here; here is a pic below...

He now weighs 3 lb 4 oz; his feedings are still 27cc every 3 hours....
We are still waiting on the Holter monitor results; it seems the propranolol is helping control his extra heartbeats...
He will have another eye exam on Wednesday; please pray for eyes free of disease!

Please continue to PRAISE GOD and pray for continued healing of Coy! His doctor told me yesterday that she didn't think it was "unreasonable" for him to go home around his due date (3/28/08). Of course, we still have some pretty big milestones to reach; in order to go home he must:

  • Take 8 bottles daily
  • Continue to gain weight (he needs to weigh at least 4 lbs)
  • Hold his temperature in an open crib
  • Be on minimal oxygen requirements
    1. Please continue to pray! We are so grateful!

Praise Jesus!!! He's a hungry growing boy (3 lbs. 4 oz). It's always a joy to see the pictures. Thank you for always keeping us updated. I will be praying hard for a good report back from the doctor about his eye exam.

He is just adorable and is doing so good on the nasal cannula! I am praying that his eye exam today is great and that you get a good report back about his heart. That is such good news about him possibly going home on his due date! God has worked so many miracles in little Coy. Stay strong - physically, emotionally, and spiritually for Coy and for eachother.
      Love,
      Reyne

By now, probably Coy already had his eyes checked... We are all praying at this exact moment so Coys eyes remain free of any disease.... He is beautiful... There is going to be too many handsome boys around the neighborhood on march... we are all counting on that... those were so good news... my kids are so excited about Coy... I even have letters for Coy and for you... I will try to give them to Britt... As always remember.... prayers are always on Coy's way... from all around the world.
