We are the proud parents of a 23 week micro preemie, Coy, born December 3rd, 2007. He weighed 1 lb 4 oz and was 12.5 inches long at birth. He is now an energetic, healthy, happy toddler that keeps us on our toes!
On July 17, 2009 we were blessed to welcome, Cydney, after 14 weeks of hospital bedrest. Born at 34 weeks gestation, she spent 12 days in the NICU.
We are so grateful for your love, support, and prayers throughout our struggles and we are rejoicing in the goodness of our God.
Thank you for continuing to follow our journey.
More details later, but here are a few pics of our little angel busting out of the NICU today!
We can not express how thankful we are to all of you for your continued love, support, and prayer for our family during these past two years. We are so blessed. We are home, doing great, and just enjoying our family of four. God is so good!
Congratulations!!! I know you are so glad to be home, but I know that looking at your beautiful HEALTHY daughter makes the sacrifice totally worth it! Great job Ann Marie! Congrats again, God is indeed GOOD!!!
What exciting news! Congratulations to the new family of four life. Enjoy being home with precious Cydney & playing catchup with Coy. Will keep praying for easy settling in.
Congratulations and thanks so much for sharing the happy news! Know you will enjoy all the joys of home and especially having your family close by! May God continue to bless you and may little Cydney eat you out of house and home!!!
YAY!!! You're both home!! Congratulations on finally getting home! Enjoy the small things....your own bed, your own shower etc and the big things....your whole family home together at last!!! Our heart and prayers are with you all!
So happy for you! Praise God! I can't even imagine what a wonderful feeling it was to walk out of the hospital with your beautiful daughter and walk into your home with your whole family there. Awesome!
For some reason, that cheesy line at the end of Extreme Makeover Home Edition just popped into my head- "Well, I guess there's only one thing left to say.... Welcome Home, Kolkhorst family. Welcome Home." Enjoy your happily ever after!
Hope we don't have to wait for Rice to qualify for another bowl game to see you guys!
That is the best news I have heard all day! I am so incredibly happy for you. What a healing experience for you and your husband. And to think that all of your hard work made it possible for your daughter to be at home with her family rather than in the hospital for months on end. I know that with the birth of my second- I shed some of the pain I experienced from my first (preemie). God bless you all. She is beautiful!
So glad you are home! God is good indeed! That bottom picture of Cydney is just too cute for words! (Oops, used a lot of exclamation marks in this comment, but I guess the situation warrants it :-))
CONGRATULATIONS! Welcome Home! So happy for you and your family. Hope this is such a sweet time for y'all! God answered so many prayers - HE IS SO AWESOME! Enjoy your family of 4 ;)
I have an incompetent cervix as well. We lost our son last year at 21 weeks and 6 days. we are pregnant with a little girl now who is named Delilah Rae, and we are 3o weeks pregnant. i had an emergency cerclage at 24 weeks with this one and have been on and off of mag and terbutaline and in and out of the hospital. i have been on strict bedrest since 24 weeks and will continue until 34.
So, after telling my life story i just want to tell you what an inspiration you and your family are to me! I found your blog and was keeping updated on you before the problems started with this pregnancy, and i am just so grateful that the Lord showed me someone else out there like me. i have admittedly struggled much with my faith during this pregnancy after watching my son die, but your faith is such an encouragement. you inspired me to make a blog too

Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I hope you and your family are enjoying being home FINALLY!
